If city life has never been your cup of tea and you have always dreamed of settling somewhere green and rural, this may be the time to start looking.
In addition to providing a better living environment, which is far calmer and much more healthy, rural life also offers more affordable real estate prices.
There are many advantages: a pleasant social life, good air quality, and living life on a more human scale are just a few examples.
In large cities, population density tends to push up the cost per square metre – especially in capital cities. And if you don’t have the budget to afford a comfortable home, you are often forced to opt for a really small property.
Of course, cities have their advantages too: employment, cultural opportunities, public services and transport all make life easier. But at what cost? If you long to breathe in really fresh air and enjoy lots of space, then country life would be the right choice for you.
We get used to everything, of course, and even learn to tolerate the noise pollution which is always part of life in an urban area. However, once calm is restored, you will immediately relax. This is exactly what happens in rural areas.
We fall in love with the calm, serene atmosphere which surrounds a village, and then we just can’t live without it.
Life moves more slowly and we learn to take the time to perform daily tasks at our own pace. We build lasting relationships with our neighbours and the children finally have an outdoor space where they can play.
